The tamper seal is designed to break away when you pull the pin to use the extinguisher during a fire. At all other times, it keeps the pin in place and should not be removed. Unfortunately, tamper seals can occasionally break during transit, as they are designed to break easily. We’ve included an extra tamper seal with the extinguisher, so you can easily replace it by following these instructions.
NOTE: Prior to replacing the tamper seal, please ensure the pressure gauge is in “Green” and the extinguisher weight is within the range specified on the nameplate (label).
1. Move the pull-pin ring to vertical position.
2. Locate the side marked “ENTER.”
3. Feed the tamper seal wire through the ring, with “ENTER” side facing away from the gauge.
4. Wrap the tamper seal wire under the top handle.
5. Ensure the tamper seal is wrapped around the end of the pull pin.
6. Feed the end of the tamper seal into the side marked “ENTER.”
7. Tighten enough to allow some movement, while limiting possibility of tamper seal movement over the end of the pin.
