2008–2023 Dodge Challenger Seat Mount Installation
Featured build: 2019 Dodge Challenger Hellcat Redeye Widebody in Indigo Blue. 6.2L with a Kong 2650 blower, 1,100 RWHP and 1,245 lb-ft of torque.
This owner mounted a 2.5 lb. HalGuard PRO Halon Clean Agent Car Fire Extinguisher under the passenger seat using our seat mount bracket. The bracket bolted directly to the factory seat frame with no drilling and no modification to the seat structure.
What you need
- Seat mount bracket
- H3R Performance extinguisher (this install uses the optional ProLock billet bracket)
- Metric socket set and torque wrench
Installation steps
- Disconnect the battery and wait 10 minutes before working near the seat. The seat wiring includes an airbag circuit (the yellow connector).
- Slide the seat forward and rearward to access all four seat track fasteners. Remove the fasteners, tilt the seat back, disconnect the wiring harness, and lift the seat out of the vehicle.
- Test fit the seat mount bracket to the factory seat frame crossmember. The bracket uses existing holes in the seat frame, so no drilling or cutting is required.
- Follow the Seat Mount owner's manual installation instructions to center the quick-release ProLock bracket (optional) on the mount base before final tightening.
- Torque the bracket hardware, then reinstall the seat. Reconnect the wiring harness, reinstall the seat track fasteners to factory torque spec, and reconnect the battery.
- Snap the extinguisher into the quick-release clamp and check that it's reachable from the driver's seat.
